Dear Users,
It appears that our initial troubleshooting on Friday was incorrect, some subscription databases are working for remote users, some are not. We are sorry for this inconvenience and will continue to work with the Graduate Center Information Technology department to restore full service as soon as possible. We suggest trying the resource you are interested in using and if it does not work try one of our alternative remote access methods, citrix or library barcode, if you need immediate access to to the resource.
The library proxy server is back up as of this morning (6/22). We apologize for the service outage of the last two days. Please report ongoing problems to the systems librarian, Kevin Reiss, at (212) 817-7074 or kreiss@gc.cuny.edu.
In order to improve the reliability of remote access to library resources we have reconfigured our library proxy server this morning. As a result of this update some remote users will be unable to access our subscription research services or make some types of Interlibrary Loan requests using our ILLiad system for the next 12-24 hours depending on the network management policies of their local Internet Service Provider. If you are unable to access the service and require immediate use of the Graduate Center Library’s remote resources you can try one of our two other remote access methods, citrix or library barcode. ILL users who experience problems can make a manual request by logging into ILLiad and filling in the appropriate resource request form. If you continue to experience problems using the proxy server beyond the end of the business day tomorrow please contact the systems librarian, Kevin Reiss, at (212) 817-7074 or kreiss@gc.cuny.edu.

I can’t seem to get onto the CUNY+ — has that been disrupted too?
No, CUNY+ is functioning normally try the URL http://apps.appl.cuny.edu:83/F/?func=file&file_name=find-b
lame.
No it doesn’t. I click on “Academic Search Premiere” and it takes me to this erroneous URL:
http://web.ebscohost.com.ezproxy.gc.cuny.edu/start?key=10.0.20.22_8000_2049071358&site=ehost&defaultdb=aph
I try to cut out the “web.ebscohost.com” part and the page tells me to cut and paste this URL to the library services department.
I couldn’t access full-text journals through proxy log-in as of 23rd 6am.
Still no access to databases (9:30am, 6/23/07).
The connection is not yet fixed!!!
Still no access to databases at 6PM 6/23/07
still no database access as of 6:30 Pacific Time,,, 6-23-07
can’t use academic search premier OR check my email. WTF?
Dear users, some databases appear to working, others are not. Our initial troubleshooting indicated that service had been fully restored, however this is not the case. The Graduate Center library apologizes for this inconvenience, we will work to restore full access to all subscription services as soon as possible as possible.
