Entrances and Hours Back to Normal

The Grad Center Building entrance on Fifth Ave is now open; the Library entrance on the 1st floor is open, too. The NYPD has left the library 1st floor. The Library will be open today until 9 p.m. as scheduled.

Library Now Open; enter Library on Concourse Level

The Mina Rees Library has re-opened. The Library 1st floor entrance is closed; use the Library entrance staffed by security on the Concourse Level. The Graduate Center Building entrance on 35th St. is open; the Main Building entrance on Fifth Ave is closed.

Library Now Open; GC building 35th St. entrance open

Due to the police and media activity underway; the Grad Center Library is accessible only through the C level entrance. The Grad Center building entrance on 35th St is open; the main 5th Ave. entrance to the building is closed.

Graduate Center Building and Library now restricted

NYPD has temporarily closed the Graduate Center Building to visitors. Entry is allowed only for those with valid CUNY ID, and through the entrance on 35th St between Madison and 5th. The Library is closed until future notice.

Mina Rees Library Open in midst of Police Activity

The Graduate Center Library is now open, though there is significant police activity around 34th St. and 5th Ave. following a shooting earlier this morning. Many streets in the area are blocked, so access to the building is currently complicated. MaRLI suspends applications til early September

As of August 20, the New York Public Library suspended applications for NEW MaRLI applications from CUNY grad students and faculty. Current MaRLI pilot program borrowers (using NYPL, NYU, or Columbia library materials) will retain all borrowing privileges at least through September 30, 2012. ScienceDirect and Scopus will be unavailable from approximately 7:30 am, Saturday, August 25, until 2:30 am, Sunday, August 6, because of system upgrades. Links to electronic journals in ScienceDirect will be affected during this outage.
