Personal message on back of postcard is addressed to a Miss F.E.L. Taylor, "Dear E, Is everything okay? I hope so. Have been thinking about you all and trust everything is O.K. now. Hope that stove and everything is working fine. Love, Mama." The postscript instructs the addressee to meet the 10:30 train.

A street scene of 34th Street during World War II. Advertisements and cars can be seen as well as people on the sidewalks, standing up against the buildings. In the foreground, a man with a white armband stands in the middle of the street. This appears to be a test of the city’s alert system in case of enemy attack. Thankfully, the alert system was never needed.
