The image features crowds on the sidewalks, cars and a bus in the street. In the foreground, a car is parked facing north, indicating that Fifth Avenue was, at this time, a two-way street.</div>

Advertisements and cars can be seen as well as people on the sidewalks, standing up against the buildings. In the foreground, a man with a white armband stands in the middle of the street. This appears to be a test of the city&rsquo;s alert system in case of enemy attack. Thankfully, the alert system was never needed.</div>
