Caption reads: "Pennsylvania Hotel. One of the world's largest hotels, the finest of the chain of Statler Hotels. A popular meeting place for New Yorkers. Has 2200 rooms." Facing the hotel in the foreground is the old Pennsylvania Station columnade. The hotel was built in 1918 by McKim, Mead and White.
