Update (2/4/2014 @ 10am): All email issues (see below) are resolved, however one of the scanners is non operational.
The problem below appears resolved. However might recur, so the library and IT department are investigating potential solutions to prevent the issue from occurring again.

The Kic Bookeye Scanner on the library 2nd floor has been moved to the southeast 2nd floor middle section, near the microforms. Too much sunlight on the scanner in its previous location required frequent re-calibration.
As many patrons have noticed, to provide better service and support, the library has moved the bookscanners closer to the 2nd floor Helpdesk and has moved the media (AV/digitization) equipment to the tables/carrels between the bookscanners and microfilm scanners, north of the reference desk.

KIC Bookeye Bookscanner service has returned to normal. Thank you for your patience!
The KIC Bookeye scanner is fully functional now. The laser has been replaced. The library wants to remind the community that desktop bookscanners’ location have changed. Desktop scanners are now available on the table between the reference and help desks on the second floor. Now there are a total of 4 desktop models; the latest two,deployed last week, financed with the Student Technology Fee. More info here.
The library apologizes for any inconvenience that the bookscanners’ relocation caused, but we are happy to announce that we have deployed two new scanners, thanks to Student Technology Fee financing, and in the process of upgrading the legacy scanner.
