Search CUNY+ for GC books
- from CUNY+, select Graduate Center holdings only
- search book by title (usually fastest)
- if a book is owned by the Grad Center in CUNY+, then OK by CUNY copyright guidelines to add for reserve repeated semesters
- if a book is not owned by the Grad Center in CUNY+, then faculty may request that the library purchase it via the Course Reserve Request Form. Pending library purchase or faculty copyright clearance, it's OK to scan portions for ERes 1 semester.
- Click on Grad Center title in CUNY+, then click on Graduate Center in Holdings. The "Graduate Center-Holdings" screen should display.
- Click on Permanent Link; URL in top box will shorten in length
- Copy (cntl-C) the entire permanent link URL in the top of the "Graduate Center-Holdings" display, even if more than one copy displays.
Search CUNY+ for GC books
- Go to ERes
- Click on "ERes Courses"
- Find your course by name, department, or instructor
- Select course, enter the Course Password assigned by library-reserves@gc.cuny.edu.
- Select "Page Management," enter your Personal Password assigned by library-reserves@gc.cuny.edu. Only course instructors and library staff can add or remove links to your course pages.
- Select "Documents & Copyright," the select "Add a Document," then "Add a New Document"
- Add both author & title (see style sheet below) in "Title" box; select "Web Link"
- Paste (cntl-V) URL from above in "Web Link" box. Other fields are optional. Then save, close window.
- If the GC library does not own a book, order it for your course from the online Course Reserve Request Form.
- Upon completion of your ERes list, notify library-reserves@gc.cuny.edu to check it so that library staff may move books from the stacks to reserve shelves and change circulation statuses in CUNY+. If you request more than 50 reserve titles for a single course, please discuss the placement of these titles with the circulation manager.
Style Sheet for ERes articles
In the ERes "Document Title" box, enter both the author and title as below. Search documents by author. Lastname, F. I. The title of the article or selection only to the colon
Lastname, F. I., Second lastname, S. I. The title of the article or selection with two authors
Lastname, F. I., et al. The title of the article or selection with more than two authors
Exceptions:
Enter colon and subtitle if necessary to distinguish one title from another.
Notes:
Put a comma after the last name and spaces between the author's initials. Title in lower case except first word and proper names. No period after title.
