Title page of a fifty-one page document of the Report of the Canal Board in answered to resolutions respecting the canal debts and revenues and the enlargement of the Erie Canal addressed to the Honorable The Assembly. This report includes both the resolutions as well as the Committee's response to them. By the time of this report, tolls collected from the Erie and Champlain canals, after deducting expenses of collection, were $1,537,532.92 for the year 1839. Total tolls to date were $9,659, 207.
