Description
Title page of a forty-six page annual report of the canal commissioners communicated to the legislature on January 15, 1819. This report was addressed to the New York State Legislature in obedience to the act entitled An act respecting navigable communications between the Western and Northern Lakes and the Atlantic Ocean which was passed on April 15th, 1817. Released before the completion of the canal, this document reports the progress, obstructions, and condition of the construction project.
