Classrom Instruction

Graduate Center subject librarians will present during class sessions if invited by an instructor. 1st year students and those beginning dissertation research benefit most. Librarians can introduce databases and bibliographic citation software Refworks or Endnote) or focus on another specific assignment.

Librarians partner with faculty to teach research. We ask faculty to participate fully in classroom sessions where librarians are invited to present.

Subject librarians also teach faculty, staff and graduate assistants to use the library's electronic reserve system, ERes, to post files online.

Research Consultation

Work with a subject librarian to form research strategies. One-on-one or group training sessions are also available for databases and bibliographic citation tools.

Librarians partner with IT staff to offer a revolving slate of workshops including Introduction to Library Services, Database Search Skills, Refworks, Endnote, and Dissertation Preparation.
