The Frederick Jennings home. In 1922 the Princeton Club bought the mansion belonging to Jennings, a Princeton alum, and proceeded to renovate and greatly expand it. The club was demolished in 1963 to make way for an office building at 90 Park Avenue.

View up Park Avenue from E. 39th Street with the Princeton Club (center), the Murray Hill Hotel (behind), and Grand Central Terminal (background). The Princeton Club bought the home of Frederick Jennings in 1922 and greatly renovated the site under architect Aymar Embury II. The Murray Hill Hotel; Built: 1884; Razed: 1947; Architect: Stephen D. Hatch. Owner Hugh Smith developed the 600 room hotel just blocks from Grand Central Terminal on a site which previously housed stables for the Madison Ave. stagecoach lines. The enormous red brick building was arranged around two courtyards. It was demolished in 1947 to make way for an office building at 100 Park Avenue.

Fraternities Club Building; Built: 1922-1924; Architect: Murgatroyd & Ogden. The club was built by the Allerton Hotel chain specifically for members of college fraternities. The medieval Italian-style building had meeting rooms for Greek organizations and 560 guest rooms. Several university clubs, including Notre Dame, Cornell, and Harvard, were once housed in the building as well.

Princeton Club; Expansion: 1922-1923; Razed: c. 1961; Architect: Aymar Embury II. The Club bought the former home of Frederick Jennings, a Princeton alum, in 1922 and proceeded to renovate and expand it, adding a 10 story building that included squash courts and a restaurant. The Princeton, Brown, and Dartmouth Clubs were all demolished to make way for an office building that was built at 90 Park Avenue in 1963.
