Originally home to St. Gabriel's Park. Much of the park's land was ceded for the construction of the Queens Midtown Tunnel in 1938. Site renamed St. Vartan Park in 1978. The Queens Midtown Tunnel was built 1936-1940. Engineer and designer: Ole Singstad.
