Remote Desktop Support
Introduction
Using Webex Meeting Center, the Mina Rees Library has the ability to support patrons’ technical issues at their remote locations. With Meeting Center, with a patron’s permission, we can login to their desktop and view reported issues to help expedite quicker resolution.
A librarian will email you an invitation.The email will include the date, time, meeting number, password and a hyperlink for you to access the meeting at the specified date and time.
The text of the email message will look something similar to the following:

To join the online meeting (Now from iPhones too!)

1. Go to https://gclibrary.webex.com/gclibrary/
2. Enter your name and email address.
3. Enter the meeting password: XXXX
4. Click "Join Now".
5. Follow the instructions that appear on your screen.
Once the link is accessed, have entered your email address and meeting password and clicked "Join Now," you have entered the meeting.

In order for the librarian to control your desktop, the librarian must make you a presenter for you to have the ability to share your desktop.
After you are made a presenter, a 'Share Your Desktop' icon will appear in your Meeting Center Window. Click on this icon.

The Webex Control Bar will appear on your desktop.

Select the Control Desktop Icon.

Select 'Allow to Control My Desktop' and then select the specific user that the librarian specifies.

Click on pause or stop buttons if you would like control of your desktop back.
