PC & MAC workstations require a GC network login to use the Internet, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, library databases, and to print.
Note for library patrons without Graduate Center accounts:
Access to library workstations is limited to those located on the first floor next to the Circulation Desk and to workstations adjacent to the Reference Desk on the 2nd floor. These workstations provide access only to the Library’s catalog, our electronic resources and to the Internet. Word processing, spreadsheet and other types of software are unavailable on those workstations.
Read the University’s Computer Use Policy.
Printing from library databases and software is free from the GC network available only to GC faculty, students, staff, and those with GC computer network accounts. Network printers labeled Liblaser 1 and Liblaser 2 reside on the library’s 2nd floor, on the 34th St side. Once you send a print-job to the printer, visit and use the print-release station to release and pick up the print job. Additional printers are on the Concourse level computer lab and in department labs. See IT guides for Mac printing, color printing, double-sided printing. Color printing is available in the Mac Media Lab on the Concourse level. Report printer problems to the IT Help Desk on the Library Concourse level, 212-817-7300 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
B & W and color printing is available to non-Graduate Center visitors using the library XEROX photocopier (see below). Bring a flash/thumb drive to print PDF documents.
There are 4 touch screen bookscanners on the table between the reference and help desks (directly north of the elevator) on the 2nd floor and a KIC Bookeye scanner on the northeast corner (34th st and 5th avenue) of the second floor. Read about it here.
Additionally, two of the KM 350 copiers near the helpdesk and second floor bathroom’s have been configured to scan to email. Read how to scan to email, here.
